Ladies, you are welcome to join us for the third annual Held & Healed Retreat. Held & Healed began as a Facebook community on September 12, 2020. This group has grown to 3000+ members and we are healing, learning, loving, and growing together. This will be our third annual retreat and I anticipate the beauty and blessings that will come. The retreat is hosted by Heather Elizabeth. Heather is an advocate, speaker, writer, speaker and coach. She facilitates Held & Healed: Christian Women Rebuilding After Abuse, a Facebook Group. She is a survivor of childhood abuse, domestic violence, and spiritual abuse and has a passion to help others rebuild their lives after abuse.
Our featured speaker in 2023 will be Sarah McDugal of Wilderness to Wild. Sarah is a prolific advocate, speaker, coach and author. She is also a survivor of domestic violence and spiritual abuse, so she understands the plight of other women who are rebuilding after abuse. She facilitates multiple groups online and offers a host of resources on her website. Learn more here.
During our weekend, we will focus on healing from domestic violence and spiritual abuse. We will give you tools to help you on your healing journey. Survivors and advocates are welcome. We will have plenty of time for rest, reflection, and regulation. The venue is an indoor/outdoor space that overlooks the Shenandoah Valley, You can take in the views of mountains, valleys, rolling hills, and farmland. You can walk down to the lake and spend time alone or with a friend. You will be invited to participate in sessions and activities, but will not be asked to do anything you do not feel comfortable doing.
After he 2022 retreat, I was in awe of how peaceful this event was. We gathered to meet Jesus and each other, face to face. Our common ground was found in excruciating abuse, soul-crushing betrayal, life-threatening trauma, and debilitating diseases. I felt peace that passes understanding and hope for the dear ones who met there. How I long for every survivor to experience this kind of community. My hope and prayer is that each one will feel seen, heard, loved, validated, and affirmed during our time together.
We will create community as we meet other women who understand the journey. We will gather around a firepit in the evenings. The beauty of creation is so healing for broken and weary souls. You are welcome to bring knitting projects, coloring pages, etc. We want you to feel safe, calm, focused, and regulated as we gather.
Early-bird registration is $175 and ends December 31. Registration is non-refundable, but is transferable as a scholarship. Space is limited, and is first come, first serve.
